Community Updates
November 20, 2025
December 1st CLC Meeting – Annual Community Health Assessment Review Presentation by Intrinsik Corp.
The next Community Liaison Committee (CLC) meeting will feature a presentation from Intrinsik Corp. on the Annual Community Health Assessment Review. To accommodate this presentation, we propose extending the meeting to 1.5 hours.
The Annual Community Health Assessment Review is prepared each year as part of the Annual Monitoring Report and included as an appendix. The 2024 Review is available on pages 1230–1452 of the 2024 Annual Monitoring Report at: https://gflenv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/11103232-RPT-45-2024-AMR-Operating-Facility-compressed-compressed.pdf. It is also available at the Valley Park Library.
To support meaningful participation, CLC and community members are encouraged to submit questions in advance. Please send questions to Kim Bailey at [email protected] by Friday, November 28, 2025.
Please note that while Intrinsik Corp. will present the rationale, methodology and scientific basis of their review and findings, they are not able to respond to questions on individual health concerns or questions related to work by the City of Hamilton, Hamilton Public Health, or the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.
If you have any questions about the meeting or the Annual Community Health Assessment Review, please contact Kim Bailey, the CLC Administrator.
Operating hours for landfill construction operations: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Operating hours for receiving waste remains unchanged.
The GFL Stoney Creek Regional Facility has received 7 odour complaint from November 13th to November 19th 2025.
Based on community feedback, we have temporarily shut down selected deodorizers on a trial basis. If residents have any questions or concerns during this period, please contact us at: [email protected]. In addition to the deodorizers, GFL applies odour abatement products during waste relocation activities. These products are applied when waste is disturbed and again at the end of the day after the waste has been placed in its new location. These products can have a light, clean scent similar to fabric softener. For more information, Safety Data Sheets for these products are available on the GFL Community Relations page: https://gflstoneycreek.com/communityrelations.
Ongoing: perimeter inspections for odour detection; air monitoring; daily waste relocation; and design and consultation of the new leachate pre-treatment facility.
GHD field staff continue to conduct on-site odour screening around the facility using hand-held monitoring devices as part of ongoing efforts to detect and mitigate odours.
The next CLC Meeting will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 starting at 6pm. You can register for the event through the following Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/_71BZMf_TXKwWEN0GG1IoQ
