Heritage Green Community Trust (HGCT)
About the Trust
The Heritage Green Community Trust is fully funded by GFL's Stoney Creek Regional Facility. The purpose of the Trust is to provide support in the form of grants to community, educational or charitable organizations of upper Stoney Creek.
The Heritage Green Community Trust successfully distributes grants to qualifying recipients or organizations who clearly provide demonstrable benefits to residents in the City of Stoney Creek residing south of the Niagara Escarpment and within three (3) kilometers of the perimeter of the GFL Environmental Stoney Creek Regional Facility.
Grants & Scholarships
Grants are awarded annually to non-profit organizations serving the community of upper Stoney Creek, which support community-based programs relating to health and social services, art and culture, education, conservation and recreation.
The Heritage Green Community Trust Scholarship Program provides financial support to students to continue their education at the post-secondary level who put forward visionary ideas to stimulate community building. Up to twelve $2,500 scholarships are awarded annually with applications due April 1 each year.
The Trustees
The Trustees consists of representatives of the City of Hamilton,
GFL SCRF, and residents in the community of Upper Stoney Creek.
